To ensure that your vinyl decals adhere to your model and last longer we have provided a few handy tips below.

Video Instructions

Our video takes you through the different stages of applying your vinyl decals to your model.

It is important to have all the tools required to hand before starting.

Please note that the cat is not an essential tool and will try to discourage her from helping in future.

Written Instructions

First you need to clean the surface area on which you are going to apply the decal, we suggest a degreasing cleaner such as a glass cleaner using a lint free cloth. Any dust or grim will affect the look and application.

Use a plastic squeegee, credit card or lollipop stick and rub over the front of the decal.

Gently remove the backing paper, do this slowly so if any of the vinyl doesn’t stick to the clear film as you are removing it you can lay it back down and give it another rub over with the card. We recommend that with smaller text that you hold it between your two index fingers and pushing against each other gently rolling the decal towards you gently peeling the backing off ensuring it remains on the transfer tape.

Once the backing has been removed you can line up the decal and press onto the item. Use the credit card and rub this over the decal to ensure there are no air bubbles and to help the decal to bond to the surface.

Now carefully and slowly peel off the clear film, this allows you to ensure that the vinyl is not sticking to the clear film, if it does lay it back and apply more pressure with the credit card and try again. It is best to roll the transfer tape back on itself rather than pulling off straight.

We recommend that you do not let the model come in contact with water for at least 72 hours after application to allow it to adhere fully.
